To apply for a Southington Library card, adults must present a valid form of identification with a name and address showing residency in Southington, Plantsville, Marion, or Milldale. Children may apply for a library card at any age, but must have a parent or guardian present with a valid form of identification. Children may request an adult card when entering the 9th grade.
A library card issued at the Southington Public Library may be used at any public library in the state.
Your Library card is good for 5 years. To renew your card, bring the expired card and a photo ID to the Lending Desk.

New Books, New Audiobooks, and Ready2Read – 14 Days
Magazines, DVDs – 7 Days
With the exception of our Ready2Read items, or items with a current waiting list, all items may be renewed in person, by phone (860-628-0947 x 2) during business hours, or online.
Fines on 3 week loan items are 10¢ per day per item; DVDs and Ready2Read books are $1 per day per item. There is a $1 charge for excessively damaged video, DVD, and CD cases or removal of barcodes and labels.
Borrowing privileges are suspended when fines total $10.00 or more. Borrowers must pay full cost for items that are lost or damaged.
