As the Executive Director of Southington Library and the Barnes Museum it is my pleasure to share information about the Library and the Barnes with you!
This past year, with the help of our Community Based Long Range Planning Committee and other members of the community at large, we created a new long range plan.
One of the most exciting things to come out of this plan is a new mission: Southington Library is Southington’s community center and premier resource for information, life-long learning and cultural enrichment.
We also trimmed this statement down to three key words: Create! Explore! Engage! We invite you to come the Library to make the most of all the wonderful materials, programs and services we offer.
Come to the Library for the hottest best-sellers. Pick up award-winning children’s books. Take home blockbuster movies. Download popular audiobooks. Use our free computers. Connect to our free Wifi. Take a computer course. Explore great literature at a book discussion. Engage in lively conversation with your friends over a cup of coffee in our café. Bring your toddler to storytime. Visit our art gallery. Learn a new language. Shop for bargains in the Friends Book Store. Log on to our homepage and use our amazing databases. The possibilities are endless and your opportunities to take advantage of all the material and services available are growing every day.
