To apply for a Southington Library card, adults must present a valid form of identification with a name and address showing residency in Southington, Plantsville, Marion, or Milldale. Children may apply for a library card at any age, but must have a parent or guardian present with a valid form of identification. Children may request an adult card when entering the 9th grade. A status of “senior” is given to any library card holder 55 years or older, allowing 2 additional weeks of fine-free borrowing privileges, excluding Fast Track books and movies.
A library card issued at the Southington Public Library may be used at any public library in the state.

With the exception of our Fast Track items, or items with a current waiting list, all items may be renewed in person, by phone (860-628-0947 x 1) during business hours, or online.
Fines on 3 week loan items are 10¢ per day per item; videos, DVDs and Fast Track books are $1 per day per item; Fast Track videos & DVDs are $2 per day per item. Seniors are not exempt from fines on Fast track items.
There is a $1 charge for excessively damaged video, DVD, and CD cases or removal of barcodes and labels.
Borrowing privileges are suspended when fines total $5.00 or more. Borrowers must pay full cost for items that are lost or damaged.
